Salsa is an easy recipe that can be whipped up in a matter of minutes. But, it can also be messed up due to unbalanced quantity of ingredients. If you use too much of a certain ingredient, you can make the taste unbalanced. So, it is important to know how much ingredients you need to prep so that you can come up with a balanced and fool proof recipe.

Whipping Up a Great Mexican Dip

Cooking should be fun. And when it comes to salsa, you can truly enjoy making your DIY dip. It is easy to make, easy to heat up and easy to serve.

Here are the ingredients and the instructions on how to whip up this tasty Mexican dip that is perfect for almost all kinds of chips and other kinds of foods.

  • Cut Up Your Ingredients

You will need to chop, mince or dice the following ingredients:

2 cloves garlic, minced

½ white onion, diced

1 tbsp Jalapeno, finely chopped

4 large plum tomatoes, finely chopped

1 tbsp lime juice

Be sure to remove the seeds of the Jalapeno and the tomatoes before cutting them up. You can use a teaspoon to remove the seeds so that you can get rid of them more easily.

A tablespoon of Jalapeno will likely be about half of it but it is better to measure it so that you won’t put too much on your recipe. But if you like spicy stuff, you can add some more, according to your preference. Just be sure that it won’t make your sauce too tangy. You can add them later if you want so that even kids can enjoy this delightful dip.

Put the ingredients aside then grab a bowl and a big spoon.

  • Mix the Ingredients

Put all the ingredients on your bowl and sprinkle with some salt to taste. You can put it in the fridge before serving to serve it cold.

Some people want eating chilled salsa with hot foods. So, try munching on it chilled with some hot veggies. Steamed cauliflower or baked potatoes will be great.

Great Foods to Pair Up with Your Mexican Dip

Salsa can be paired up with almost any kind of food. Here are some foods that you can enjoy with your sauce:

  • Boiled eggs
  • Steamed or boiled cauliflower or broccoli
  • Steamed or boiled baby carrots
  • Tortilla chips
  • Cucumber slices
  • Poached chicken
  • Poached pork
  • Kale chips
  • Crackers
  • Pita bread
  • Dried veggies

Eating Hot or Warm

Aside from serving this Mexican dip cold, you can also heat it up. Just toss it in a pan with some olive oil and let it heat up for a bit.

Great with Other Foods

You can also use salsa to add to your salad dressing to add a healthier dressing to your green salad. You can also put it on your baked goods to make them healthier and tastier.

You can toss it to your rice meal to add variety. Also, you can put some black beans on it and wrap it up with a tortilla or pita bread to have a quick snack.
